On most cars, especially hatchbacks, due to the large open area between the c-pillars, there is a lack of horizontal reinforcement between the c-pillars. Consequently, under cornering, the c-pillar area, and hence rear chassis will tend to flex and twist. This adversely affects cornering stability and response. The Alex C-Pillar Bar addresses this problem by providing a reinforcing brace between the c-pillars. With the C-Pillar Bar, the chassis feels more composed, stable on mid to high speed sweeping corners, responsive to driver inputs, and communicative of the car's rear end.
